Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Diaryland covering your use of the Diaryland website and mobile app (together, the "service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use Diaryland. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you think someone else has accessed it.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you write and upload. By posting content you give us the limited permission needed to store it, display it to the people you choose, and operate the service. You are responsible for your content and for having the right to post it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Diaryland to:

• Break the law or infringe someone else's rights.
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other people.
• Post spam, malware, or content that is illegal, or that sexualises minors.
• Attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the service.
• Impersonate others or misrepresent who you are.
• Import or email people who did not ask to receive your newsletter, or import a bought, scraped, borrowed, or contact list.

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. We may review reported content and remove anything that breaks these terms, and we may suspend or close accounts that do. You can report content or another member, or block someone, from within the service, and you can reach us at help@diaryland.com.

Supporter membership and payments

Diaryland is free to use. You can optionally become a supporter for extra features. Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe or, for in-app purchases, through the app store you bought them in. Subscriptions renew until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Cancelling and deleting

You can stop using Diaryland and delete your content or account at any time. When you delete content or your account it is removed from view and then permanently deleted after a short retention window. See our Privacy Policy for details.

The service is provided "as is"

We work hard to keep Diaryland running, but we provide the service "as is" and cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. To the extent allowed by law, Diaryland is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

Mobile app and the App Store

If you download the Diaryland app from Apple's App Store, you acknowledge that these terms are between you and Diaryland, not Apple, and that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You also confirm you are not located in a country subject to a relevant embargo and are not on a prohibited-parties list.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. When we make meaningful changes we will update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
