What we are looking for
Two reasons we are collecting these. A website is supposed to show that people like using it, which is the boring reason. The better one is that we hear genuinely interesting things about how people use their diaries, and that deserves a page of its own.
Any length
Three sentences is a story. So is three pages. Send whichever one you actually have.
The details are the good part
What you write about, when you write, what you were doing the day you started, how it felt the first time someone left you a note. Specifics are far more interesting to read than a summary.
In your own voice
Write it the way you would say it to a friend. Nothing needs polishing, and nothing needs to be made bigger than it was.
Honest is enough
If your time here has included hard years, that can be part of it. We are not only after happy stories, just true ones.
Everything sent here is read and is useful to us, whether or not it ends up published. We may publish a story, ask about a shorter version, or simply keep it as feedback.
